The museum closes Memorial Day weekend so Society members and members of VFW Post 3070 can facilitate and assist with the  Memorial Day ceremonies at the Sumner Cemetery. A lunch is usually provided at the VFW after the event.

Sumner Mayor's and the Rainbow Girls from Sumner and Puyallup are usually part of the ceremony at the cemetery.
